This is "Waterloo" in Duplin County, the home of Harget Kornegay and his wife Susannah Simmons.  Originally the Simmons plantation house, it somehow passed on to Harget after he maried Susannah.  The property has now passed on to another family, but we're planning to establish contact and see if it's possible to take pictures inside.

Note that at some point, the original structure was added to (most apparent on the second story) and it is now impossible to determine the original configuration of the building.  There are two front doors, consistent with early Colonial dwellings, apparently for ventilation; one probably led into the main room of the house and the other into sleeping quarters.  Judy Kornegay Herring tells me that as a little girl she remembers the house as weathered wood and unpainted.  Nor does she remember the white railing around the porch, apparently another modern addition.  The current red exterior paint has been added in recent years.  If this structure was indeed the Simmons home place, it is at least 200 years old.
