Alice GOODSON married Nicodemus KORNEGAY 28 DEC 1887 when both were 25 years old. Their first child, Ransom, came just a year and three days later; followed by another, and another, and another. In 17 years of marriage, Alice bore ten children that lived; we do not know if she had others that did not survive. The children she bore took a heavy physical toll on Alice and she died at the young age of 42, either in childbirth or from complications arising from the birth of her last child, named for her, Alice.

Poor Alice, her life was just too short.  Her faded picture hardly represents a woman who went through as much as she did in so short a life.
