David Kornegay

Born 1740, Died About 1785

The following information is from Abstracts of the Records of Jones Co NC 1779-1868, Vol I by Zae Hargett Gwynn

P. 34--KORNEGAY. David. April 25, 1784--June 1784. My executors to sell a silver watch, a mare and colt, a yoke of oxen, two tracts of land on Neuse River, my turpentine and as much of my crop as is not herein willed away, and they to pay my debts; To my wife LETTICE, three negroes, but not their increase, a horse, 8 cows and calves, and hogs; I lend to my wife LETTICE, my plantation until my son ROBERT is 21 years old (if he die in his non-age then as length of time when he would have been of age) all my household goods, plantation utensils, horses, oxen, sheep and much else; To daughter Sarah, all land on Muscle Shell swamp in two patents, an equal half of the negroes, and a horse; to son ROBERT, my plantation and the thoroughfare quarter and 200 acres in the fork of Long Branch, Fannings dictionary, Salmons Geography, and equal half of the negroes; my wife to have 25 pounds as board for my children each year, the flax, cotton, corn, ect from the crop. When son ROBERT of age all divided to my two children ROBERT and SARAH.

Executors: Brother Abraham KORNEGAY and the guardian of children.
